The cypress-lined driveway and swathes of lavender blooms that greet guests make the arrival at Villa Borie the most pleasant and dramatic scenes ever. As an elegant home with its stone-hemmed wall facade, this 3-bedroom property for 6 guests is located in Luberon, which is itself an excellent base to explore this part of Provence. Lovingly restored by its current owners by renovating it with style and taste, Villa Borie showcases the perfect blend of Provencal design with contemporary furnishings and original artwork throughout. Then there is the old Borie, which is a stone hut where shepherds were believed to have sought shelter from stormy nights in the past. The sumptuous outdoors from which the breathtaking views of the Luberon mountains are visible, matched against the beautifully-preserved indoors is what makes living here just exotic and inspiring.
There are 3 bedrooms in Villa Borie, the first being a Master Bedroom and the 2 others being Double Bedrooms. The master room is fitted with a queen-sized bed with direct access to the main bathroom consisting of features like antique roll-top bath and double wash basins, as well as doors that lead out to the stone terrace. The first double bedroom comes with a queen-sized bed, a direct access to the shower room with in-ground Italian shower and also doors leading out to the garden, while the other double bedroom has also a queen-sized bed, sofas and doors that lead out to the swimming pool. All 3 bedrooms also feature Provencal wardrobes and dressers for a consistent, uniform theme.
On the beautiful outdoor grounds lies the swimming pool by the rockery that teems with flowers and fruit trees, and measures 6m X 3.5m that has also a pool safety alarm while being open from April to end September. Sun loungers and deck chairs line the side of the poolside terrace, from which guests can enjoy a glass of local wine or savor aperitifs by the stone bench surrounded by lavender. The old borie with its lit-up terrace is another unique highlight, as with the stone fountain gurgling away, in an atmosphere replete with a Boules court and table tennis for some light sports and games.
The indoors featuring the living and dining rooms are separated by a beautifully conserved stone fireplace as its central feature. As French doors open up to the glorious stone terraces, the marvellous kitchen is sure to impress with its well-equipped and high-end Smeg amenities including an oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, coffee maker and also an island and breakfast table. The library will certainly be a hit among book enthusiasts, while another corner serves as a small study area with another reading space on the mezzanine level that is accessible via the spiral staircase.
Guests at Villa Borie will be delighted by the range of services provided by the team who go the extra mile to create a memorable holiday. Among the services offered are maid service or extra cleaning, private chef or catering, pre-stocking of fridge, as well as airport pick up and drop off.
The villa is located within walking distance to one of the many idyllic villages here in Luberon, where guests can find an array of restaurants, cafes and charming shops. The steep narrow streets featuring beautifully-restored old stone houses can be explored, or discover the fascinating ruins of a castle dating back to the 11th century. Within a short driving distance, guests will arrive at other idyllic Luberon villages such as Bonnieux, Menerbes and Roussillon as well as Van Gogh’s beloved Gordes, which at 17km away, is one of France’s Plus Beaux villages.
